Felafel with homemade pita (ፍላፍል ከነፒታው የፆም ሚትቦል) #Vegan #የፆም #EthiopianFood

I'm sharing this step-by-step tutorial with love. I hope you enjoy it. Please try it and let me know.

Falafel is a famous healthy “fast food” originally from Middle Eastern countries and it is made of a mixture of chickpeas and fresh herbs or spices. It is make in a shape of small ball or patties, like meatball. It is a great source or protein and it is becoming famous in other countries who love spices.

 Ingredients:

1 cup of over night soaked chickpeas
Do not use boiled or canned chick pea because it retains so much water and we need to put s more flour for the felafel. If it is a lot more of the flour it won't be good felafel. You don't want to make fired dough.

1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric/ Erd
1/2 tsp paper flakes
1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp cumin seed powder
1 tsp black paper m
Small bunch of fresh parsley leave or 1/2 tsp dry one

1/2 red onion chopped
1/2 cup Breadcrumb
1/4 cup cooking oil
1tsp four

How to make it:

Felafel

Put the soaked chickpeas and spices in a food processor
Add the chopped onions and breadcrumb and mix them all together.
Add the oil, add flour, it will help to make the felafel balls or patties.
Then once everything is mixed well, make the balls with ice cream scoop or your hands.

Then fry them in a hot oil with medium heat

Pita bread

2 cups of wheat flour
1/2 cup of whole wheat flour (it helps to get a nice pita)
1tsp salt. 1 tsp sugar, 2tsp oil, 2tsp dry yeast
1 cup of water
Kneed it well with sprinkling some flour. Not too hard but nice and soft as you see on the video. Leave it for an hour to rise.

Cut the dough in pieces and roll them as desired size of the pita and bake them on frying pan in small-medium heat. It puffs up by itself nicely.
